Man in Motion brings inspiration to border city gala

An event honouring Lakeland College brought out important dignitaries Friday evening in Lloydminster. The premier of Alberta, Dave Hancock, was in attendance along with other ministers and the Man in Motion himself, Rick Hansen to attend the President’s Gala. Hansen told Goat news he was thrilled to come to the border city to reconnect with his old college basketball coach, the VP of Lakeland’s student services. He said Lakeland is an amazing college and the fundraiser is great for students needing support for post secondary education. Hansen said he knows what it means to have support like bursaries and scholarships, and that help lead him to where he is today. The Man in Motion went on to raise millions of dollars for spinal cord research from his tour around the world.
