Break And Enters On The Rise In Lloydminster

Christmas is coming up, and along with it, an increase in break and enters.
In the last month, Lloydminster RCMP have seen a surge in the number of homes and businesses that have had property stolen.
Items include jewelery, money, electronics such as laptops and gaming systems, and video games.
Corporal Tammy Hollingsworth suspects many of these cases involve thieves monitoring the places they plan to target. She suggests preventative measures like locking doors, leaving lights on, setting timers and motion detectors, securing  windows, and closing blinds on garage windows so culprits can’t see what’s inside.
If you believe someone is targeting your home, call 911 right away, and do not confront them.
