Battlefords RCMP is warning residents against scams. In recent weeks, police have received an increase in fraud complaints in the city. One scam involves receiving a cheque in the mail, with a request that it be cashed, and part of the money returned to the sender using Moneygram or Western Union. The RCMP say that if the offer seems too good to be true, it likely is. When in doubt, contact your bank or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
