The Coldest Night of the Year is coming to Lloydminster. The night is a fundraiser held in 81 cities across Canada on February 21st. TheĀ event encourages people to sign up and raise moneyĀ to walk 2, 5, or 10 kilometres for local charities that help the homeless. The walk is in its third year in Lloydminster, and even though it raised $25,000 last year. Event Co-ordinator Coralynn Nydokus says she believes the city is capable of more.Ā SheĀ says the goal for this year’s walk is $40,000. All money from the walk will be going to the local Men’s Shelter, and anyone interested in learning more about the walk or volunteer opportunities should visit coldestnightoftheyear.org.
