Lloydminster RCMP are celebrating a successful December. During the month, police forces across Alberta focused on impaired driving, and Lloydminster RCMP held multiple check-stops for the campaign. From December 15th to New Year’s Day, they responded to 18 calls of suspected drunk drivers, and charged only 7 people. Constable Grant Kirzinger says that the numbers were around what he expected them to be, and that he believes the public awareness campaigns the RCMP conducted played a role in preventing drivers from making bad decisions.
