30TH INTERNATIONAL ROADCHECK FOCUSING ON CARGO SECUREMENT

Commercial vehicle inspectors will be out in full force over the next 72 hours for the 30th annual International Roadcheck. While cargo securement is always a part of inspections, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance from June 6th to 8th will be placing a special emphasis on it during this year’s event.

The inspectors will be doing North American Standard Level I inspections, which are the most thorough. It has 37 steps that look at both drivers and their vehicles. That includes everything from checking hours-of-service documents and seatbelt usage, to brake systems and windshield wipers

The event is the biggest targeted enforcement program on commercial motor vehicles in the world, with almost 17 trucks or buses checked on average every minute in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
