North Battleford Standoff Ends With Arrest

North Battleford RCMP have arrested a man after a day-long standoff. Thursday morning, the RCMP responded to a complaint of a distraught man in a home near St. Mary’s Community School in North Battleford. The school was placed on lockdown, and evacuated to Notre Dame Elementary School just after lunch. Later in the afternoon, the police evacuated residents who lived near the man’s home, and set up blockades. He was taken into custody a short time later. Nobody was hurt.
