Lloydminster Man Charged With Child Pornography

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) has charged Brian James Hanson from Lloydminster with child pornography and breach offences.

The 26 year old is facing the following charges:

  • Luring a Child Under the Age of Sixteen
  • Making Explicit Material Available to a Child under Sixteen
  • Breach of a Recognizance

The investigation started on April 6, after the ICE unit received a complaint of a person having having sexually explicit conversations with a 14 year old girl over social media. The investigation led them to a home in Lloydminster where the activity happened. On June 14 a search warrant was executed at the home, and Hanson was arrested and held in custody.

Hanson appeared in Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster this morning. He was remanded in custody until June 22.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
