Husky Energy Investigating After Human Rights Complaint Launched Against Contractor

Husky Energy is investigating a human rights complaint involving its upgrader in Lloydminster. According to the CBC, three people say they were fired by a local contractor after reporting Islamaphobic incidents.

They are all from Edmonton and are Muslim. In one alleged incident, a woman says her coworker called her hijab a hoodie and yelled at her to take it off as it was making others uncomfortable.

The incidents all happened between May 31st and June 3rd, which is when all three workers were reportedly let go. A complaint was filed with the Alberta Human Rights Commission on Tuesday.
