Two Men Charged After Vehicle Stop in The Battlefords

Twenty year old Kane Nicotine of North Battleford and 19 year old Deshane Bird of Lloydminster have both been charged after a vehicle stop in the Battlefords. On Saturday evening, RCMP stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of 101st Street, a search was conducted and the RCMP found:
  • a loaded sawed off .17 calibre rifle
  • a .22 calibre assault style rifle
  • a small amount of prescription pills.

The vehicle was then towed and impounded.

Nicotine and Bird have both been charged with several firearm related offences. Nicotine is also charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while suspended.

Both appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court yesterday and remain in custody. Nicotine’s next court appearance is on June 23, and Bird’s is on June 30, 2017. The investigation is ongoing.
