What to Expect at Streetfest 2017

Downtown Lloydminster will be bustling with activity this Saturday for the 8th annual Streetfest.

Streetfest Committee Member Vince Angelo says, “it’s the kickoff to summer.”

He adds, “this is the weekend before all the kids are going to be out of school and everything like that. So it gives everybody an opportunity to kind of get into the swing of things and come out and enjoy themselves and on a nice day it is such a fun event.”

This year Streetfest moved a few weeks later from it’s usual start date, Angelo says this was an effort to make sure the weather was better, typically they’ve been caught in the rain. So far the forecast is looking sunny for Saturday.

This year there will be plenty of activities/booths ranging from:

  • Axe Rising
  • Escape Rooms
  • Midwest Furniture Kid Zone
  • Food Trucks
  • Main Stage acts including dance groups
  • Farmers Market
  • Arts Without Borders

The event starts at 10 am, and Angelo says all you need to do is come on down.

“Basically there will be everything that they’ll need down there if they want to pick it up. They’re coming to the downtown, so there’s still stores and other venues that will be open. Come down, bring the family.”
