UPDATE: Missing Mental Health Patient Found

UPDATE: Gordon Merrick has been located and returned to the Saskatchewan Hospital

 

 

Battleford’s RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating Gordon Merrick. The 55 year old walked away from the Saskatchewan Hospital mental health facility in North Battleford on Friday at around 8 p.m. Merrick is a committed patient at the hospital.

He was last seen on Highway 16 on the east side of North Battleford saying that he wanted to visit family. RCMP say Merrick may have began hitch hiking to try to get to Regina where his family lives.

RCMP say they do not have a reason to believe he poses a direct threat to the public at this time but add Merrick should not be approached.

Merrick is described as First Nations, standing at about 5’8″ and weighing. 180 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair a goatee and is wearing glasses.

If you see Merrick you are asked to call the Battlefords RCMP at 306-446-1720, your local RCMP, 310-RCMP or in an emergency 911.
