Stolen Vehicle From The Battlefords Area Leads to Arrest in Biggar

A 23 year old male from Biggar is now facing several charges.
Shortly after midnight on Saturday, the Battlefords RCMP informed Biggar RCMP that a stolen truck from the Battlefords area would be entering into their jurisdiction. The truck was found on the 300 block of 5th Avenue East in Biggar. RCMP say a male fled from the truck to a nearby home. Police located and arrested the man.
During the arrest, police found about $1150.00 in cash and several individual baggies containing a white powdered substance.
Reno Vincent Poitras of Biggar is charged with flight from police, possession of stolen property of a value exceeding $5, 000 and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
Poitras was remanded and appeared in provincial court July 24. He has been remanded to August 1 at North Battleford provincial court.
