Canada Post says that they try to salvage as much mail as possible in the case of a mailbox fire. This comes in the wake of a fire in the mailbox in front of the Atrium Centre on Monday. Canada Post spokesperson, John Caines, says that these kinds of fires are rare, and that the Post Office gathers all the mail that is still readable and sends it on with a note of explanation.
