Sask. Government Reminding Drivers to Check With Highway Hotline Ahead of Long Weekend

The Government of Saskatchewan is reminding motorists that they can check the Highway Hotline as they prepare to travel over Thanksgiving weekend.

“Motorists travelling to visit family and friends this Thanksgiving weekend are reminded to continue watching for work zones. Remember to slow to 60 km/hr when approaching the work zone and watch for flaggers, signs, equipment and other hazards,” says Highways and Infrastructure Minister David Marit.

The hotline can be accessed by dialing 511 or by going online. Several other provinces use the 511 system for road conditions including Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario.

People are also asked to report problems with highway work zone signing by calling 306-244-5535.
