Wainwright Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Seizure

A man is facing several drug related charges following a traffic stop in Wainwright.

On Wednesday, a vehicle was pulled over for a traffic violation and police say upon further investigation they determined the driver had a controlled substance. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was searched.

Police say they found methamphetamine and marijuana, with a total street value estimated at $4,770.

A 51 year old male from Minburn is charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and three counts of failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance.

He will appear in court on November 2.
