Sask. Government Now Accepting Agriculture Scholarship Applications

The Saskatchewan Government is now accepting submissions for the 2018 Agriculture Scholarship.

“This year’s scholarship theme, ‘Our Food has a Story’, encourages young people to have a conversation about the relationship between agriculture and the food they eat. The scholarship program identifies young agricultural leaders to help build public trust in our industry,” says Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart.

Students can apply for the scholarship by submitting a three minute video or a 1,000-word essay based on topics surrounding their food story, along with an application form, a letter of conditional acceptance to a post-secondary institution and a letter of recommendation from a teacher/professor, agriculture industry leader or community leader or a resume with a cover letter outlining school and/or community involvement to [email protected].

The scholarship is open to students in grade 12 and recent graduates entering agriculture-related post-secondary studies in 2018. There is one scholarship of $4,000 and three runner-up scholarships of $2,000.

The application deadline is March 1, 2018.
