LCHS Celebrates Student Success

The Lloydminster Comprehensive High School is celebrating last year’s academic achievement by recognizing students who received honours and scholarships.

The school held the awards night Friday, giving out 41 scholarships, and recognizing 31 students who receive AP designation in either Calculus or English and over 190 students who received top marks.

“We definitely see an increase in student achievement within our school and it is one of our goals as an educational institution to create opportunities where students can thrive and continue to do better each and every year,” says LCHS Principal Dwayne Marciniw.

He credits the success to student-teacher relationships.

“Just an increased focus on student achievement, creating opportunities for teachers to connect with students more frequently and students embracing those opportunities and the end result is better results.”

LCHS handed out $41,000 in locally administered scholarships, and over $98, 000 in Alexander Rutherford Scholarships. Marciniw thanks the community sponsors for helping them with scholarships.

“We would just like to say a big thank you for investing in our kids and investing in the adults of tomorrow.”
