City Holding Website and Sitemap Focus Group

The City is looking for residents input on their website redesign. They will be holding a sitemapping focus group on Tuesday.

“One of the comments we often hear about our current site is people are having to search around a little bit to much or [there’s] too many mouse clicks to get to the information they need to get to. The root intent of this sitemap focus group is going to be how we put our information online in a way that people can find it intuitively and with as little clicking around and searching around as possible,” says Director of Communications Leo Pare.

He adds, “we are going to be joined by a consultant from the company we’ve partnered with in putting the new website development together. They’re going to walk us through some different navigation ideas and some different structures. We’re going to collect input from the people in that group and we’re hoping to get somewhere between 20-30 people involved.”

If you can’t attend the focus group, Pare says people can email [email protected] with comments.

“We always welcome feedback and not just on sitemapping but on features and other things they would like to see on our website as well. Obviously this is the communities website and we want this to reflect their needs and their expectations for a municipal government website.”

City Council approved the reallocation of $130,000 from Land Development Operations to go towards the redevelopment of the City website in October. The process of revamping the site is expected to take 7-9 months.
