Benoit Wants More Open Communcation To Fight Terrorism

Vegreville-Wainwright MP Leon Benoit says law enforcement groups need to be able to share information to better stop terrorist attacks. Over the weekend, a video was released from al-Qaida linked terrorist group al-Shabaab, naming West Edmonton mall as a possible terrorist target. Speaking in Lloydminster before the video was released, Benoit said that the government is working on legislation to help law enforcement agencies do a better job.  Benoit also said that there have been around 3 dozen foiled terrorist attacks in Canada, but many suspects escape prosecution because of a lack of communication between agencies.
