Neilburg minor hockey referee Paul Rutherford will be recognized by Hockey Canada for his commitment to his community and the sport of Hockey.

President of the Neilburg Recreation Board Riley Perkins says Rutherford was chosen for the award because of his long career in minor hockey.

Perkins says Rutherford will be honoured as part of Minor Hockey Day in Neilburg.

“We’re going to have initiation to all the way to Bantam games played and at 3:45 we’ll be doing a presentation with SHA [Saskatchewan Hockey Association] and Hockey Canada and our local rec. board and minor hockey.”
