Nine Lloydminster players have hit Football Alberta’s top 100 U18/U17, putting them in the running to play for Team Alberta in the Football Canada Cup.
The rankings were determined at Football Alberta’s Super Weekend Camp, which saw four hundred players show up. Lloydminster quarterback Anton Amundrud, runningbacks Matthew Morin and Nathan Zacharias, linebackers Evan Eide and Garrett Hatchard, defensive backs Ethan Mather and Kaleb Sommerfeld, defensive lineman Colton Schmidt and offensive lineman Cullen Wagner all set themselves apart in the rankings.
The selected athletes will now be attending football camps at the University of Alberta Foote Dome where two forty man teams, one for U18 and one for U17, will be determined. The announcement of players who will compete for Alberta in the nationwide Football Canada Cup in Calgary this summer will be made April 20th to 22nd at McMahon Stadium.
