Accused in Boushie murder case begins trial Monday

Gerald Stanley’s trial for charges in relation to the murder of Colten Boushie begins Monday.

Stanley was arrested in 2016 for allegedly shooting Boushie during a confrontation on the Stanley Family Farm near Biggar, Saskatchewan. He has previously plead not guilty to the charge of second-degree murder, later being granted bail and released on a set of conditions. During preliminary court appearances, rallies were held by supporters of the Boushie family in both Battleford and North Battleford.

Stanley’s trial will be held at the Court of Queen’s Bench in Battleford.
