Lloyd Lanes is the newest bowling alley to open up in the city as early as February.
The family run business is still under construction with bowling lanes being put in Friday. Owner Jody MacDonald says this will be a neat venture for her family and will bring them closer together.
“Because my kids have always bowled and I loved the program for them and I bowled as a kid as well and it’s just been really missed by the bowling community.”
The project has been in the works for a few years now and construction recently began in July, 2017. MacDonald says there has already been interest by local organizations for gatherings.
“We have Big Brothers and Sisters that’s a major fundraiser for them and we’re hoping to implement a few, you know fundraising ideas where it’ll be a great place for some of the groups to come out and be able to work and make some money for their groups.”
The economy has been up and down the past few years, but MacDonald believes that the business will be viable for the long run.
“There’s been so much interest in it. We do have a great following of bowlers already. I mean league is a huge thing and it always has been.”
The opening is going to be in the third week of February.
