An Alberta man has been arrested in the state of Washington after spending a year and a half on the run. Convicted sex offender Michael Stanley became the subject of a manhunt across the Prairies after cutting off his electronic monitoring bracelet in Lloydminster 18 months ago. He was arrested in Seattle on Saturday after an alleged burglary and rape of a 69-year-old woman. Stanley is a U.S. citizen, and when he first crossed the border in 2013, the federal government decided not to extradite him. So far, there is no comment on whether they will reverse that decision.
