Maidstone RCMP are asking drivers to avoid Highway 17 at the Battle River Bridge.
Road conditions are extremely icy and many cars and trucks, including semis, have gone into the ditch. Police are advising people not to travel unless absolutely necessary and adjust driving to deal with icy conditions.
The RCMP has not released a re-open time at this moment.
