Lea Park Truss Bridge restricted due to severe damage

Alberta Transportation has restricted the Lea Park Truss Bridge because of damage to one side.

The bridge on highway 897 over the North Saskatchewan River was inspected by Alberta Transportation and revealed that the bridge had significant damage to the west side.

The bridge has been restricted to a maximum vehicle weight of 15 tonnes until further notice. Motorists and trucks are being asked to use alternative routes such as highway 893 to the west or highway 17 to the east.

Alberta Transportation says they are working on a temporary fix that should be complete by March.
