The City is looking to upgrade existing traffic structures

Lloydminster is seeking upgrades to current traffic infrastructure to improve functionality.

The 2018 Traffic Signal Project will upgrade existing traffic signal hardware, which include a pole replacement at 44 street and 62 avenue, as well as constructing new traffic signals at 59 avenue and 25 street.

In 2014 the city had a consultant assess existing traffic signals, which highlighted upgrades such as bulb upgrades and pole replacements. The 2018 project will look to make those upgrades with the results of the Traffic Signal Assessment report.

The city is also looking at options to help with traffic at the intersection of 25 street and 59 avenue as part of the 2015 College Drive Widening Design. There are two options in place including a multi lane roundabout and adding traffic signals, both are under request for a proposal.

The Traffic Signal Project is expected to be complete within the 2018 year.
