Local teen off to Toronto for Miss Teen Canada

A Lloydminster teen is hoping to pursue big dreams by going to Miss Teenage Canada in Toronto.

Ayden Kosko, age 14 has been participating in pageants for the past six months and in November won the title of Miss Teenage Lloydminster. Ayden says that pageants have given her a new found confidence.

“It helps with my confidence and my body image. I get to meet new people and travel. I want to be a role model for people to inspire them.”

Her mom, Stacey Kosko says that she has seen her daughter grow through the experience with her confidence in public speaking and overall ability to be comfortable in her own skin.

So far Ayden has participated in about five pageants and isn’t looking to slow down anytime soon after finding out that she was selected to represent Lloydminster on the big stage in Toronto. Ayden was first introduced to pageants by a local dance teacher and says part of the experience she enjoys most is giving back to her community through volunteering at food banks.

“Pageants are really great and I get to participate in them. I did charity work and volunteer work so they gave me the title to do more charity work around Lloyd.”

The mother daughter duo have been fundraising for the past few weeks to be able to send Ayden to the pageant in August.
