Tax season has the Lloydminster RCMP reminding residents about phone scams.
There are two common types of scams being reported to the police. The first is the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) scam, where someone calls saying you owe money and need to pay it right away. The second is that you owe money and a warrant has been issued for your arrest.
RCMP say both of these cases are not true and not how the police or CRA do business. They remind people not to provide their SIN or banking information on the phone and never send money to someone who says they will send money in return.

Police say if residents receive one of these scam calls to hang up and contact the CRA, RCMP or PhoneBusters.
