City elm trees to be removed by ATCO Electric

ATCO Electric will be removing several elm trees near 45 Street and 47 Avenue.

The City says tree limbs have started to interrupt nearby power lines creating risk to residents and electricity disruptions in the area. Executive Manager, Operations Rodney Cumby says that safety is always their number one priority.

“In recent years, ATCO Electric has been able to trim these trees to prevent limbs from contacting power lines; unfortunately, these trees can no longer be trimmed to effectively mitigate risk.”

Work will begin Tuesday and is expected to be completed by March 28.
