City Hall calls on residents to fill out census

The City of Lloydminster is encouraging all residents to participate in the 2015 Municipal Census.

The Census begins April 1, and can be filled out online. Over 12,000 households will receive a letter with an 8-digit PIN, printed on fluorescent green paper, which they can enter at Lloydminster.ca/census. If the questionnaire hasn’t been filled out by April 15th, enumerators will visit households between April 16 and June 12. All census responses are confidential.

“Municipal census date provides information about community growth and assists the city to plan for our residents’ needs, from neighbourhood designs and infrastructure developments to programs and services,” said Beth Kembel, City Clerk. “To ensure we receive the maximum amount of grant funding possible, it is critical we gather up-to-date census data and establish a picture of the population as of April 1, 2015.”

Thanks to previous censuses, the city has qualified for $200 per resident from both provincial governments.
