The Root Bistro in Lloydminster has been newly renovated after a fire shut down the business for almost two months.
Owner of the Root Bistro Hannah Bexson says that the restaurant went through a whole face lift.
“Everything has a new coat of paint or stain, we have new flooring, we have a new ceiling and we have new lighting.”
The venue officially opened Friday, April 13 after two months of renovations. Bexson says that they are still working on a few finishing touches.
“The building owners insurance covered most of the renovations and the Root’s insurance covered all our equipment being cleaned so there’s no smoke smell left.”
The restaurant has a new menu, and will feature live music almost every Friday and Saturday. Bexson wants to remind people that the space is for everyone.
“The Root is a place for all people, old and young in every walk of life and we offer something for everyone. We’re very accommodating if your child would like to eat a grill cheese sandwich for dinner and you bring them to dinner with you the kitchen will accommodate any needs that the have.”
The Root will have an official grand reopening on June 8.
