War Amps key tag service starts up again

The War Amps once again will be sending out their key tag across Alberta.

Regional Representation for Alberta Annae Jones says that the campaign is vital to the organization and the programs that they run.

“One program for example is the child amputee or the CHAMP program and that program offers services to child amputees and their families such as financial assistance for artificial limbs, regional seminars and peer support and counselling.”

Over 1.5 million sets of lost keys have been returned to their owners in Canada since the program started in the 1940’s. Jones says that although the service is free of charge a lot of people find value in it and therefore donate to the organization.

“It’s confidential so if you find a set of keys and it has a key tag on it all you have to do is pop it into a mailbox in Canada and it will be returned to the owner free of charge or you can call the 1-800 number on the back and the War Amps will send a courier to come pick up those keys.”

To get a key tag go to the War Amps website or call their toll free number at 1-800-250-3030.
