Increased noise, army vehicles, flights part of army drills: CFB Wainwright

Residents in the Lloydminster to Wainwright area should expect extra noise as CFB Wainwright conducts training exercises.

The military base is doing two training exercises this month. Exercise Reflex Rapide is going from May 1st to 5th, and Exercise Maple Resolve is running from May 13th to 24th.  On these days, there will be an increase of army vehicles on the road and military helicopters flying low in the day and at night. The base says they will try to keep the flights short, but they may fly over Lloydminster, Vermilion and Wainwright.  Residents can also expect loud noises as the base does live fire training.

The exercise also has around 6,000 troops from Quebec visiting the area, to be part of the Canadian Manoeuvre Training Center program.

CMTC says that they will make all efforts for this to not impact residents, and thank people for their understanding.
