LCSD and LPSD receive funding from Alberta Government

Both Lloydminster school divisions will be receiving financial support to hire more staff through the Classroom Improvement Fund.

For the 2018-2019 school year the Lloydminster Public School Division (LPSD) will be given $361,100 and the Lloydminster Catholic School Division (LCSD) will receive $284,000 by the Government of Alberta.

Minister of Education David Eggen says the program was a success last year for students and they knew they had to find a way to continue it for another year.

“By putting a renewed focus on supporting the kids who need it most, we are making sure all students can benefit from a great education.”

The focus for the program in the next school year is to hire more teachers and support staff, as well as providing more support for students in areas such as math and literacy. A total of $77 million will be given to classrooms across the province.
