The County of Vermilion River has lifted their partial fire ban.
On Thursday morning, the county removed its ban and are distributing fire permits again. The permits can be picked up by visiting or calling the County Administration Office. If applying over the phone, people must have access to an email or fax machine.
The county is still reminding people to be cautious when starting an open fire and be aware of wind conditions in the area. They should also have a way of extinguishing the fire closeby. Smokers should also dispose of cigarettes in burn proof container rather than throwing it on the ground or out of a vehicle.
The RM’s of Britannia and Mervin has also lifted their fire bans.
