Six organizations in Lloydminster receive grants from Sask. Government

The Government of Saskatchewan is giving Lloydminster service clubs, sports associations and non-profits over $12,000 in grants.

As part of the province’s Charitable Gaming Grant Program, the Border City Optimist Club will receive $285.08, the Lions Club is getting $373.09, the City’s curling club will see $5,617.91, $450 will go to the Interval Home, while the Meridian Youth Soccer Association will receive $4,882.71 and $399.97 will go to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 39.

The grants are being provided by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA). Minister Responsible for SLGA Gene Makowsky said in a statement that the government is pleased to support volunteer organizations through fundraising efforts such as the charitable gaming grants.

The grants also provided North Battleford with over $41,000 in funding to various organizations, with a total of over $1.2 million being given out to communities across the province.
