5th annual Devin Seguin Memorial is about bringing people together

The Seguin family are using their experience with tragedy as a way to help those in need.

Devin Seguin passed away in 2013 to cancer, his family created a foundation to help families struggling with children needing medical help. On June 23rd the 5th annual Devin Seguin memorial will assist with the foundation’s mission of bringing people together.  Devin’s father Eugene Seguin explains why this is important in the community.

“We wanted to bring everybody together and just get people to slow down and enjoy what we have right now because life changes in a heartbeat.”

All money raised will be used by the foundation to continue helping others.  Eugene says he’s been preparing for the fundraiser that will have him eating a 4-pound burger, 2 pounds of fries and a pound of coleslaw.

” I’ve been eating a lot of pizza, I’m up to six pounds of pizza.”

Eugene adds there will be plenty of activities for the community to participate in including a memorial ride the morning of the event.

“We have human fooseball, which is a pretty big thing there and is a lot of fun, we have a shuttle service this year from the commonwealth centre to the event running all day until midnight, we have live bands and everything is free.”
