Lloydminster chapter of the MS Society gearing up for MS Walk

The Lloyminster chapter of the MS Society is gearing up for the MS Walk. The society’s largest fundraiser of the year is happening Saturday, May 2, in Bud Miller Park with the goal of beating last year’s total of $200,000.
This year’s walk features a number of walking routes to choose from, including a 1 kilometer, 5 kilometers, and 10 kilometers, and the option of timed 5 and 10 kilometer runs.
9-year-old Nicholas Fowler is among those registered to walk. He has come up with an interesting slogan for this year’s event, along with a unique fundraiser. Fowler’s slogan is “Don’t talk the walk, rock the walk”, and he’s selling healing stones. Fowler is also organizing a car and airplane wash on Saturday, May 2, after the walk in Bud Miller. Last year, Fowler sold elastic bracelets, and raised $6400. So far this year, he’s raised $5700.
To buy one of Fowler’s stones, go to Lloydminster’s MS Society office. To sign up for the walk, call the MS Society at 780-871-0513 or go to mswalks.ca.
