City Hall to honour National Day of Mourning

The City of Lloydminster will recognize all those who have been disabled, injured, or killed at work in a Day of Mourning on Tuesday, April 28.

City Hall will host a ceremony at 9:30 AM, in conjunction with the Lloydminster Construction Association, ATCO Electric and Lakeland Regional Safety. Mayor Rob Saunders will sign a proclamation, and the flags will be lowered to half-mast while a moment of silence is observed. The City encourages members of the local business community to commemorate the day, and to continue to be pro-active in the prevention of work-related incidents.

Every year on April 28, workers, families, employers and others come together at ceremonies around the world to remember those who have lost their lives on the job and to renew their commitment to creating safer workplaces.
