UPDATE:Battlefords RCMP investigating threat to business employee

UPDATE: RCMP have arrested a 34 year old male in connection with the knife threat.  The male arrested without incident  on Saturday July 14th in the city of North Battleford.  He is facing charges which include Theft Under $5,000 and Assault with a Weapon. The additional charge of Theft Under $5,000  is related to an incident Saturday night at a business on east Territorial Drive.
The male will be held in custody until his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial court on Monday July 16th at 930 am.

Battlefords RCMP are investigating an incident where a local business employee was threatened after confronting a man for stealing.

On Wednesday afternoon, a man was seen stealing from a business on North Territorial Drive in North Battleford. The man stealing was confronted outside the store by an employee, where he is then said to have threatened the employee with a knife. The man left the scene on a bicycle and no one was harmed in the altercation.

The man is described as Caucasian, slim, average height with brown hair. He looks to be in his 30s with a scruffy brown beard and wearing an orange hoodie. Anyone who has seen the man is asked to contact RCMP.
