Lloydminster residents to take advantage of free fishing weekend

Saskatchewan is hosting their annual free fishing weekend for residents and visitors to the province to take advantage of.

On the July 14 and 15 weekend people can fish at any public waters open to fishing without needing to buy a fishing licence. Environment Minister Dustin Duncan says Saskatchewan has some of the best freshwater fishing in the world.

“Free fishing weekend is a great opportunity for families and visitors to make summer memories at one of our province’s many lakes.”

In Lloydminster, that means residents can fish at the North Saskatchewan River without a licence, however, will still need to follow all other fishing regulations such as possession limits, gear restrictions and size limits on some lakes and rivers. For more information on regulations visit the province’s website.
