Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Lloydminster and surrounding areas.
Temperatures are expected to reach 29 degrees or above during the day and a minimum of 14 degrees overnight. Cooler temperatures are expected for Tuesday as a low-pressure system moves across Alberta. In parts of southeastern Alberta, hot temperatures will return for Wednesday and Thursday.
To avoid heat-related illnesses people should take precautions to protect themselves such as drinking plenty of water and limiting hours spent outdoors. For a full list of affected areas visit Environment Canada’s website.
