Battlefords RCMP looking for man in assault incident

UPDATE: RCMP says Jay Shia has been found and taken in police custody without incident.

RCMP have spread a warrant to Alberta and B.C in search of 30 year-old male involved in an assault.

Battlefords RCMP are looking for Jay Shia after responding to a complaint on September 2. A 26-year-old female was transported to a Saskatoon hospital from Battlefords Union Hospital after being the victim of an assault that has left her in serious, but non life threatening condition.

Shia is wanted by RCMP for assault causing bodily harm. He is described as 5’7″, 140 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. Shia has a piercing on the lower left side of his lip.

The investigation is still underway in search for the male. Anyone with information on Shia’s whereabouts can contact RCMP.
