Lloydminster breaks 36 year old rainfall record

A new rainfall record has been set in Lloydminster. According to Environment Canada, a total of 15.2 millimetres fell in the city on Tuesday, breaking the previous record of 13.4 millimetres set 36 years ago in 1982.

Yesterday’s showers continued throughout the day cancelling a candle lighting event that was suppose to be held Tuesday night by the Lloydminster Youth Council. The event was put on to remember the lives lost to suicide in accordance with World Suicide Prevention Day.

At the end of August, the city also hit a record low in temperature of three degrees.
