Residents invited to discuss revitalization of downtown

Lloydminster residents are invited to attend a series of engagement sessions to discuss the future of the city’s downtown.

The Downtown Area Revitalization Plan is currently underway and will be used to draw more people and businesses into the downtown while creating a destination for shopping, dining and entertainment.

“Through these engagement opportunities, we hope to develop a well-rounded view of what qualities are important to residents and businesses in a downtown,” said Mayor Gerald Aalbers in a statement. “Gathering feedback is an important first step toward building a downtown that is truly the heart of our city.”

The city will hold seven sessions throughout September the first on September 19 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Root Bistro. For a full list of sessions visit the city’s website.
