Walk with Dustin set to start on Sunday

Bud Miller Park will host the first annual Walk with Dustin on Sunday, June 14.

The walk is being held in memory of a local boy, Dustin McConnell drowned at Sandy Beach 5 years ago. The event is meant to raise awareness about the importance of paramedics in ambulances, instead of the current EMTs that serve the Lloydminster area.

Paramedics are allowed to do many things that EMTs can’t, such as administering medication, or providing emergency procedures EMTs aren’t qualified for.

Donations raised by the walk will be kept by the Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation.

The walk will start at 1 PM near the Leisure Centre. To donate, go to the walk’s Go Fund Me page, at www.gofundme.com/ud82c4, or sign a donation sheet at the walk, on Sunday.
