Kitscoty Fire Department fundraising for new tools

The Kitscoty Fire Department is looking to buy new equipment with the funds raised from their annual Steak Fry.

The Steak Fry will be held at the Kitscoty Community Hall on October 12th. Tickets are $50 and will feature a silent auction and door prizes. Volunteer Firefighter Stephanie Boucher says all the proceeds will be going back to the fire department.

“All the money raised goes towards getting us the tools we need for the truck. Things like the Jaws of Life and everything we need along those lines just to keep us up and running.”

Boucher says having better equipment will help the firefighters handle the variety of calls they respond to.

“If we have good working equipment and a variety of running equipment it provides better availability to the public. We deal with a lot, fires, medical calls, motor vehicle collisions, pretty much everything on the whole spectrum. The better our equipment, the easier it is to help people.”

Anyone interested in purchasing tickets to the Steak Fry can contact the Fire Department or the Kitscoty Town Office at 780-846-2221.
