Company fined after worker hit by metal gate near Lloydminster

An Edmonton company has been fined $100,000 after a worker sustained serious injuries from being hit in the face by a metal gate at a worksite near Lloydminster in 2016.

Heartland Livestock Services pleaded guilty to one count under the Occupational Health and Safety regulations in Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday.

According to a Saskatchewan release, the worker was trying to get a heifer into a holding pen when the incident happened.
